As the summer draws to a close I always get in a melancholy mood. I did not get done as much as I planned around the farm. I did not do as many fun trips as I wanted. Just disappointed that September is here. Maybe it is conditioning from my days as a child and the whole back to school thing. Back then summer lasted much longer. Maybe you can relate.
The reflection of this past summer causes me to also ponder my apologetic journey and studies. Most recently there was an opportunity to have a great discussion with a church around 5 hard questions for Christians. The night was quite fun and very enjoyable. It was very interactive it almost seemed like the night did not want to end despite being late in the evening on a Monday. I could hardly sleep that night as my mind was racing with better ways to answer the questions. I loved the passion and the dialogue and look for opportunities to find more conversations with believers and unbelievers. I have the slides I used up on the website.
I had a chance to study in Brooklyn at Cross-Examined Instructor’s Academy (CIA). It was great to meet and talk to some of the thought leaders in the apologetic space such as Frank Turek, Greg Kouhl, Bobby Conway, Brett Kunkle and more. We studied, talked, and presented to each other to sharpen our message of a Christian Worldview. It was exhausting, exciting and deepened my conviction of our message. The message that we have a very accurate truthful helpful worldview. Met other like-minded Christians that shared the passion. So many people arming themselves to give an answer for the hope that is in them, impressive.
I have also started taking some college-level courses in apologetics at Southern Evangelical Seminary. I will also be heading to their two-day Apologetic event in October. Anyone else going to be there?
Recently built a few memes. Please let me know if you like it and if you decide to share it and with what results you are getting. Often people find it hard to start a conversation of faith. The memes and these blogs are meant to help. Please always feel free to post or share anything I send.
I will continue to write and continue to look for opportunities to share the message of a Risen Savior. I will also keep an eye out for people with a passion for studying, discussing and sharpening each other for a defense of our faith in the Risen Christ. If you also have that passion and would like to discuss these topics I welcome the chance to have that conversation with you.
Much like with the end of summer, as I approach the autumn of my life I feel strongly I could have and should have done more. I should have been bolder and more outspoken. God has given me a wonderful testimony to share with others. I don't want to waste any more time.
